“A day for celebration”

A few words from ACT Project staff in El Kef on the closing ceremony of our Disability Self-Advocacy and Inclusion project.

Today is a day for celebration.

This morning, we marked the closing of a programme for organisational capacity development in the north-west of the country.

Special thanks to Slim Magri who co-ordinated the project with one of our staff members and to the six associations who took part in the project and put much effort into putting into practice what they have learnt – UTAIM Tajerouine, APAHT Tajerouine, UTAIM Sakiet Sidi Youssef, UTAIM El Kef, UTAIM Jendouba, and Association El Amel, Laaroussa.

This afternoon ACT is celebrating the International Day of Disabled Persons (3rd of December), as well as the end of one of our longest running projects, with a projection of the Tunisian film ‘Regarde-moi’ in El Kef in partnership with the Association des Arts pour le Cinéma et le Théâtre du Kef (actkef.org).

ACT is honoured to have worked closely with InterAct throughout the course of this project, which has sought to raise awareness on the inclusion of people with disabilities in Tunisia in the professional, family and educational spheres.

Special thanks go to all our partners in this work from around Tunisia. Thank you for enabling transformation amongst such an important group of people.
