Tunisian young people had not been prepared to face all the challenges of post-revolutionary Tunisia. The country faces socio-economic challenges and youth as one of the pillars of Tunisian society, faces several risks such as addictions, unemployment, clandestine migration and delinquency, but this youth represents a great wealth for the country and above all a potential for its future.

This project aims to build the capacity of 900 youth aged between 18 and 25 years old in terms of soft skills and employability.

The target group for this project are aged between 15 and 29 years in the six governorates in northern Tunisia – mainly the Great Tunis, Beja and Jendouba areas.

Activities

Result 1: Capacities of youth and civil society involvement increased

  • Organize 60 Youth Skills Development Programs (YSDP)for 900 youth (18-25 years).
  • Implement 180 social initiatives by the YSDP youth.

Result 2: Youth strengthened their managerial and entrepreneurial skills

  • Organize 12 training sessions on entrepreneurship for 300 selected youth
  • Train 180 trained youth preparing a business model/ project idea
  • Support 40 young people to create income-generating initiatives

Result 3: Youth transferred their acquired knowledge to their peers

  • Equip 600 youth to do peer education for the benefit of 2400 peers (13-18 years)

Result 4: Capacities of local partner and youth institutions strengthened

  • Establish partnership with 10 youth institutions in the Great Tunis and North West of Tunisia
  • Organize 4 capacity building trainings for the benefit of 30 participants of the youth institutions
  • Train 40 youth workers on the experiential learning approach
